BLINDS AND WINDOW COVERINGS DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR. After working for Skandia Window Fashions (a nationally well known fabricator of window coverings) for 10 years, I decided it was time to pursue other interests which led to John's Custom Blinds and this website. Since 1986 I have been involved in many areas of the window covering industry. One such area was installing Home Depot blinds. I have been installing mini blinds,vertical blinds, and shades since 1995 and have a contract with a property management company in Solana Beach,CA. | Mini blind cleaning tip:
Put on a white cotton glove and moisten the fingers in a solution of equal parts white vinegar and hot tap water. Now simply slide your fingers across both sides of each slat to quickly clean them. Periodically rinse the glove in a container of clean water.
I also recommend keeping them clean by wiping them down with a used dryer fabric softener sheet to repel the dust. Wipe them with another sheet whenever the effect wears off.
Fabric Cleaning Tip:
When you notice some dirt on your fabric blinds, take a strip of 2 inch clear tape or masking tape and wrap it around 2 or 3 of your fingers with the sticky side out.Dab the tape on the dirty spot and lift the mark off. It has worked for me in many cases and it was a trick I learned when I was in manufacturing.
