Why get a Valance?
There are two main reasons for using a valance, one being the look and beauty of it, and the other being as a help in cleaning. The valance provides an easy, inexpensive option to hide the headrail from view, giving your verticals a uniform, sophisticated look. It's main purpose though, is to keep dust, and dirt off of your blinds. It hangs over the vanes, so dust from above doesn't collect on the top of the headrail, or on the top of your vanes. This reduces the frequency of cleaning for your blinds. This is a very recommended option for fabric blinds, due to the fact that you will seldom have to wash the blinds.
